India’s pottery tradition is an important part of its cultural and economic heritage. For generations, potters have produced earthenware products that serve both daily household needs and ceremonial purposes. Despite this rich tradition, many potters today struggle to maintain sustainable livelihoods due to declining demand and limited access to modern technology. To address these challenges, the Government of India launched the Kumbhar Sashaktikaran Programme, a targeted initiative aimed at empowering the potter community through training, technology, and financial support.
